Domain Road Duffer's Creek Riesling 2014
This fantastic Riesling from Central Otago on New Zealand's South Island was hand harvested in April 2014 and scored 91 Points from Wine Spectator.
The fruit was destemmed and crushed before pressing and undergoing fermentation in a stainless steel fermenter. A long, slow, cool, ferment retained the fruit and varietal characteristics of the wine with the fermentation stopped to retain some residual sweetness giving an off-dry style of wine.
Pale straw in color, Domain Road's Duffers Creek Riesling provides aromas of orange blossom, mandarin and lime on the nose with hints of apricot and melon. Citrus flavors, pineapple, and honey predominate on the palate. The result is truly memorable off-dry wine with balanced acidity and a lingering finish.
This wine is perfect with Asian food, chicken, salmon and tuna. It also makes a standout partnership with just about any spicy dish. If you are having cheesecake for desert, you had better order two bottles so there might be enough left for that heavenly pairing.
You can order this New Zealand wine online for shipping to California and District of Columbia only. More states coming soon.
